CAST
For the role of the first rapper, I contacted my friend who I thought would suit the role visually. The sharper, structure face suits the deeper voice of the first rapper and although he has never previously taken part in performance pieces or anything similar of the nature, I believed he would suit the role as he can be a serious person and could execute the role of Mikael well.
Dzung Hoang
He too is 18 years old, fitting in with the age criteria for the role. However he is not Korean and so would have to learn the romanised lyrics which would make lip syncing a slightly harder but not impossible task.
I also contacted him via YouTube and once again, through Skype, we discussed and confirmed on details to ensure an organised and smooth shoot on the day of filming.
Being someone who does not take many photos of himself and such, there was a possibility that he might have been camera shy and could not have delivered but I took a gamble with it.
The two do not know each other and so there is a possibility of friction or the both not getting along on the day of the shoot. I will however approach it in a business like manner and try my best to ensure that everything runs smoothly and that the cast and crew are comfortable with working together so that everyone can work to the best of their abilities.
