- That most known man in Rock would be Elvis Presley, with his sleek hairstyle and outfits, he was an iconic figure of the 50s. Yet rock is no longer like that anymore, the rock and roll that entertained in the 50s has branched into various directions. There are many forms of rock now and within those, different conventions. Visually, the images that the rock artists of different genres possess are very different. Paramore are a well-known rock group but their image is fairly normal, leaning on the punk side but still casual in general. In comparison, there is the Visual Kei, hard J-rock by groups such as The GazettE, who sell their bold, striking image and use it as a marketing technique.
