EFFECTS

There is one main transition that I would like to use in my video. Inspired by BIGBANG’s ‘Bad Boy’ video, the skilful camera angles introducing different members at their designated singing parts create the impression that the audience follow the band as they walk through the city.

Transitions

In the first shot, SuengRi is seen walking across then up the stairs in a tracking shot as he faces the camera singing, the camera then stops as he walks further up where another pair of legs are seen walking down the stairs. The camera then tilts upwards then tracks the next member, TOP, as he walks down, turns the corner and walks towards the camera singing. As he walks around the stairs, the camera shoots him at eye level, and then it cuts to a low angle that tilts upwards back to eye level where he gazes into the camera, creating eye contact with the viewer. This happens multiple times, creating a sense of power as he dominates that specific moment in the video and as the audience becomes absorbed in his performance.

These types of transitions happen throughout the video, creating a beautiful flowing finish whilst also cutting often between shots, keeping it interesting. This is also done by the camera movements as the non-stagnant shots tilting and turning as the artist sings at the camera keep a consistent pace of the video.

I want to use this consistent transition at the point on the song where the two rappers change just before the instrumental. This shot will be at the car park, and so a shot of one of the rappers walking out behind a pillar with a swift move to reveal the other guy singing as he walks out from the same pillar in a different angle will hopefully create an interesting finish.
