FAKE RAIN

The initial plan was to do the water scene at an outdoor location such as Borough Market. I emailed them about whether there might possibly be a water source I could use but found little success. I then started to look into other ways.

I looked into many methods but encountered many other problems. As there was no way that I could use a water source at Borough Market, the other easiest way would be to use a watering can with a spray nozzle. However, in order to raise it high enough above the actors and placing a filled container above their heads appeared to be more hazardous than successful due to the weight and stability as a ladder or stool would be needed. Another problem would be where the I would obtain the water to put into the watering can.

Similarly, a water pump like this one could work. All it takes is to put the pump end into a bucket of water and this should in effect achieve the fake rain. The same question of where the water would come from remained.

There were ways to carry water such as water couriers  bags and most simply bottles of water which were designed for camping, but could be used in this case to provide water for the pump or watering can. Yet this marked a new question for transportation.

Water would be hard to transport from different locations as it is rather heavy in bulks. This could in effect slow down the process and if there were any leakages, it could also cause technical difficulties.

Another option was using a portable shower. This provided water and a pump. Yet the water is limited and would lead back to the question of transportation.

I looked into other ways, someone once involved a children's fire fighters association and used fire engines to create the fake rain. Another was to hire a water van, but failed to find any in this location and budgeting restricted me from doing so.
