POSTER

This portrait poster is reminiscent of the digipak. By using the same photos, it becomes instantly recognisable and helps to encourage familiarity amongst the audience. However, the photos are in colour, attracting more attention and producing a more appealing finish.

The central positioning of the logo that fills the width of the page brings focus towards it, instantly making people aware of who the artists are and what the poster is promoting whilst once again familiarising them with the logo and its associations with their appearance as seen on the photos behind it that fill the page.

The rounded font for the date and the words 'Debut Album' soften the harsh effect created by the bold, sharp logo, producing a more approachable, melancholic finish. This is emphasised with the choice of photos. The lack of expression reveal little about the artists, encouraging audiences to continue supporting them in order to learn more of them, but also reveals a sense of sadness as one looks down, past the camera as if gazing somewhere afar - relating to the narrative of the music video 'Nokturn Sonata' and the other looks directly at the camera with a somewhat fearful and sentimental expression.

The positioning of the text to all align to the right continues the formal structure of a sleek, straightness as the blunt, sharp font of the logo creates a bold, set effect. The positioning of the words just a little above and below it with a small gap in between continue the structure and somewhat borders the logo, ensuring that it can be seen whilst not detracting the focus from the logo. The words 'Debut Album' are however underlined to bring focus to it so it is clear what the poster promotes. The line is thin however, contrasting with the tick, boldness

of the logo and avoiding taking the focus away from it. The fact that it does not exceed or match the length of the word is to break to pyramid structure that can be slightly visible. It adds a more stylish edge to the finish and overall appears trendier.

The photos colouring create a smooth blend at the centre where they meet and where the logo rests. The darkness of the edges of the photos contrasted with the illuminated faces create a more dramatic effect and contrast well with the white logo and text. The yellow, red and green tones of the top photo attracts attention and is greatly contrasted with the dominantly black photo below - this being a reference and in relation to the narrative of the video once again. The poster is completed with company logos 'Apple iTunes' and 'HMV' as seen with most posters as the songs/albums can be digitally purchased from those sites/places.
