The poster somewhat contrasts with the other media products, with the use of coloured photos instead of

making them black and white. This makes it more eye catching and appealing, attracting audiences to view

their other products with the aim to increase publicity.

 

The top photo in the poster uses a larger range of colours as to the dominantly black photo at the bottom, once again relating back to the narrative of the video and keeping with the themes of death, past and present. Equally using a contrast, the audience would find this more appealing. In fact the decisions to contrast also stemmed from the idea of defining time, special relations and the relationships.

All the three products combined work together to build the star image of ‘Nokturn’. Through the use of selectively edited photos and the attention given to the accessories, logo and minor details, the group is portrayed in several different ways yet maintaining the concept.

 

The music video exhibits their talent and diversity in their singing and acting abilities and due to the music video being largely based on narrative, the image built of the two is one of mystery as in the music video, they act as characters in relation to the song. They do not get the chance to be revealed as their true identities as idols and so there is no distinct, clear image of them. However, this lack of clarity and nebulous image was intended so that audiences would have to purchase and follow more of their work to find out as a way to increase their fan base and revenue.

With the use of social networks such as Facebook, Twitter and electronic platforms such as their official websites, the audience can find out more and eventually promote the artist’s popularity. Although there is no specific image, the selected photos used on the digipak and poster combined with the typography work towards creating confident, charismatic and cool images of the two members with a trendy and fashionable look that is vital in the Korean Music Industry and conforming to their ideals. 

 

Overall, all three products have been carefully designed to work together to create a sense of continuity so that the audience can identify, relate and appreciate them as artists in the industry.
