Rihanna - 'SOS'

 

At the start of her blooming music career, Rihanna was the ordinary RnB singer, with the provocative clothing and movements in music videos but still what was considered ‘ordinary’.

‘SOS’ was on the first few successful international hits and the music video follows the conventions of RnB videos with eye-catching jewellery to show the wealth of the artist, but also create the fashionable image of the artist. Like most videos of the genre, there is dance and bright lighting. Also, the location of one of the shots is a foreign set up, possibly to create the ‘deserted on island’ feel to tie in with the title of the songs ‘SOS’.
