It is because of the development of technology that even us at home can easily manipulate a photo and create things that could possibly challenge and match professional levels whilst experimenting and expressing personal creative and innovative ideas and I used it in the different stages of creating my media products.

Finally this package was only made possible due to the technologies we used at our disposition. Web 2.0 has a huge role to play as well as the developments in technologies forever changing the face of music video promotion and marketing. With the way digital technologies are evolving, the trend is likely to continue and DIY productions will get even greater opportunities.

Adobe Photoshop was used to enhance and alter the colouring of the photos that were used for the poster and digipak. Following conventions of real media products where the artist always appears with perfect skin, I airbrushed the photos using the ‘Gaussian Blur’ function on Photoshop. The digipak was created on a template and the logo was created from scratch. Photoshop allowed me to manipulate photos to match the concept. For example, I managed to convert the photos to a black and white format and create a distinctive logo that would be used across all three products.

Sophisticated video and photo editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop have allowed DIY productions to look

professional – comparable to real music videos.

Using Adobe Premier Pro as the video editing software, I edited the music video and animatic. The video was compiled together with many cuts and light leaks and effects to achieve the desired finish. I could freely experiment with different editing styles which would achieve different effects such as using monochrome and altering the brightness and contrast to make the image appear more intense and dramatic and adding the widescreen effect in an attempt to create a more professional outcome.
